Trumpeter, guitarist and composer who performs as Exaltron. He named *Reflections, Vol. 1* and plays its last track.

[Scott Hampton](https://www.scotthamptoncomposer.com/), who performs and releases as Exaltron, is a New York trumpeter, guitarist, music technologist and composer. He combines live instruments, looping and live remixing with custom Max for Live patches, has played The Knitting Factory, Nublu and The Delancey, toured nationally with [Moldover](/conspirators/moldover/), and in 2016 built a mobile sound system to take his looping rig into subway stations and parks. As a film and television composer he has scored features including *The Wayward Sun* (2013), *Batman & Jesus* (2017) and *Black Wake* (2018), and he teaches at Garnish Music Production School.

## A name, a track, and a gralbum

He gave [*Reflections, Vol. 1*](/conspiracies/reflections-vol-1/) its subtitle, *A Noise Akin to a Flight of Deranged Swallows in Combat*, lifted from a review of a [Metal Machine Trio](/conspiracies/metal-machine-trio/) show, and Exaltron plays the last track: trumpet, guitar, guitar-bass and live looping. For [The Gralbum Collective](/conspiracies/gralbum-collective/) he wrote two of the three songs of *Train O’ Thoughts* with [Tom Hart](/conspirators/tom-hart/), launched at the New York Transit Museum on April 1, 2015; the third, “Hope is a state of Mind,” is mine. He plays ukulele and, as Exaltron, trumpet on “[I Just Believe in Christmas](/conspiracies/i-just-believe-in-christmas/).”
